IV. Sanctify yourself – separate   Verse 5

V. God wants to magnify Himself through you.  verse 7

VI. God will remove the obstacles.  Verse 10

VII. God does a superior job with our obstacles.  Verse 17

* God not only parted the river; He dried up the riverbed!

Putting others first!

1. Notice others I Samuel 16:9-23 and 17:55
David had worked in Saul’s court playing the harp for him as a young man, but Saul seemingly did not even know him after David killed Goliath. Saul had looked long and hard for a man courageous enough to fight the giant and David was right there all along.

2. Acknowledge others. Proverbs 18:24
Friendliness and genuine interest go a long way towards building a relationship and leading others to Christ.

3. Listen to others. James 1:19
We are often so intent upon being heard, we never stop to LISTEN!

4. Respect others.
Respect their opinions, their time, their space, their privacy, and their hurt. We are often too quick to jump to conclusions concerning others actions.

Having not passed this way before!

Joshua 3:1-8 – text verse 4

Joshua was about to lead the nation of Israel across the Jordan river and into the Promised land. Several new things were taking place: Joshua was just beginning to lead after 40 years of Moses leadership. They were about to cross a swollen Jordan river. They were about to enter an inhabitted land where they were not going to be nomads, but rather warrior looking to claim the land for their own. Much was changing in their lives.

I. When God gives us His will to do – Do Not Procrastinate – Joshua 3:1 he rose early in the morning.

II. The people were to follow the arc – Always follow God

III. They were to follow those in front at a distance – Don’t follow other people too closely

IV. God wanted to be magnified through them

V. God would remove the obstacles as they came to them.

Shall we all go fishing?
Text: John 21:3-12

*What happens when we leave the will of God?
1. Notice that it was dark – Christ is the light!
2. Notice they did not pray first – no direct Word from the Lord.
3. Notice their efforts were met with failure – they caught nothing!
4. Notice they did not recognize the Lord when He first appeared.
5. Notice that the Light appeared when Christ came.
6. To have true success we are to do things Christ’s way.
