Clearly defining who you are!

A Pastor must make sure that his church has a clear understanding of what they believe and why they believe it.  If a church does not clearly define who they are, then others will define who you are whether you like it or not.  The lack of religious understanding today has allowed the culture to casually throw around words like ‘cult’ and ‘legalism’ without having to define them.

It was just fifty years ago that one could visit a Congregational church, Methodist church and a Lutheran Church in the same town and hear a consistent message from the pulpit.  This is no longer the case.  The avalanche of other denominations and churches has led to confusion of who believes what.  Churches are nondescript  today.  They go by names like: ‘Calvary Church’, ‘Living Water’, etc.  These names tell us nothing of what they believe or what their doctrinal stand may be.

We must be clear about who we are and what we believe!!
